Tio leads the way
Tio is one of the most prestigious universities of applied sciences in The Netherlands. Satisfied students and quality are the key. For years, Tio’s bachelor programmes have been earning the highest scores in the independent Higher Education Guide and the National Student Survey (NSE). Tio has an excellent reputation and has been renowned for 50 years for the quality of its education. All of Tio's bachelor’s degrees have been elected as the best in their respective fields by the Higher Education Guide (Keuzegids Hbo). “In first place, there is the private Tio University of Applied Sciences, which has locations in five cities. Students are very positive about this school,” says the Higher Education Guide.
All bachelor courses at Tio received a NVAO re-accreditation according to the new criteria. The NVAO is an independent accreditation organisation tasked with providing an expert and objective assessment of the quality of higher education.
Small-scale and personal
As a private educational institution, Tio is able to invest more in the quality of education than government-funded educational institutions. Tio’s education is very personal. This past academic year, the average class consisted of just 11 students. Small groups means that you will have extensive personal contact with your lecturer and your fellow students.
The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) gave Tio the special “Small-scale and intensive education” hallmark.
Accelerated learning
Tio’s personal approach facilitates accelerated learning. The study programme is intense and contains many contact hours. This allows you to obtain a bachelor’s degree in just 3 years or your Associate degree in 2 years.
A career in the world’s largest industries
Opting for Tio is a choice for a career in the world’s largest industries. Tio graduates are very welcome in many sectors due to their understanding of how to provide a high level of service, their excellent communicational skills and their hands-on mentality. Approximately half of the graduates now hold positions in a sector outside the main focus of the Tio study course.
Locations
Tio University of Applied Sciences is a national organisation spread out over six locations. This gives you the benefits of a small scale and personal approach as well as the solid foundation a national organisation provides. The locations are all easily accessible by public transportation. Regardless of which city you choose, the nearest train station will never be more than a ten minute walk.
All bachelor studies
Tio University has four English bachelor courses:
- Hotel and Event Management
- International Tourism Management
- International Business Management
- Commerce Entrepreneurship and Organisations
Important to know is that the English courses take place at the Tio locations in Amsterdam and Utrecht. The International Business Management programme can also be done at Eindhoven, Rotterdam and from September '23 in Groningen.
Master study
The Master of Business Administration can be done in Utrecht and Amsterdam and from September '23 in Groningen.
